Australia hosts Iranian cinema

Iranian Film Festival Australia is currently underway in Australian city of Melbourne, showcasing a collection of recent movies selected from Iran cinema.

The lineup includes titles such as ‘Subdued’ directed by Hamid Nematollah, ‘Blockage’ directed by Mohsen Qaraei, ‘Israfil’ directed by Ida Panahandeh, and ‘Yellow’ directed by Mostafa Taqizadeh.                                                  

‘Negar’ directed by Rambod Javan, and ‘Breath’ directed by Narges Abyar are also in on the fest’s slate.

The list goes on with ‘The Girl's House’ directed by Shahram Shah-Hosseini, ‘Leila’ directed by Daryoush Mehrjoui, as well as ‘Take Me Home’ by the late-great filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami.

The Iranian Film Festival Australia is an independent cultural establishment that was founded in 2010 in Australia.

Melbourne has been chosen as the first showcase platform of the festival in its 7th run. Five other Australian cities of Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra will take over respectively till November 19.
